If you get the bolts out with this tool you will be lucky. My bolts were tight and all this little tool did was round off the slots making them impossible to remove. In the end I drilled them out and ordered a new set of bolts, this time however I bought double hex bolts and that way I could hold the each end with an Allen Key. Far better than the originals.

You'll need this tool or something like it if you're going to remove a chainring. I bought it to do just that. Unfortunately the bolts were so tight the tool just couldn't grip the slots firmly enough to loosen them. This tool rounded off the slots making them impossible to remove. In the end I was obliged to drill the bolts out and order a new set. I didn't however buy the same sort again, I opted for the double hex type, that way you get to hold both sides with an Allen key, an all together better idea. Why Shamano opted for this type of fixing is beyond comprehension. It may work for you but I would strongly advise that whatever way you get them out you do not replace the with the same slotted type.
